In this guide we are going to show how how you should grade your students for their papers, quizzes, presentations, etc. Before we start we need to point out that when you create an assignment or quiz in Edoome, automatically these evaluations will be created in Grades. For all your offline evaluations you should create items manually so you can grade them. Good, we will use our example Mathematics course to ilustrate this example. Once inside your course, within the “Evaluations” tab you can find the “Grades” module. Click on it.
As you can see it is a pretty empty page, because we have not created any Assigments or Quizzes in Edoome and neither have created (yet) an evaluation manually. If you click on “Type of evaluation” you can edit this field and click the blue button next to it, to create the evaluation type. In our example we created the type “Presentations”.
Once you have created the type of evaluation, the next step would be to create an evaluation that belongs to this type. Just click the button “New Evaluation”.
A pop-up window appears where you can enter a date and the name of the evaluation.
In our example we created an evaluation called”1st group presentation” and you can see that it is still pending. This means, as a teacher, you can now grade your students, but your students can’t see anything untill their grades are published.
When you click on the name of the evaluation you just created, a list of all your students who are in your course will appear. In our example we only have 1 student in our course called “Prueba Uno”.
To assign a grade to a student, just click on the 2 lines.
You can also give some feedback by clicking on the text balloon icon.
A pop-up window appears, add your comments and press “Save changes”.
When you finished adding all the grades, observations and you want to publish you should click on the 3 dots that appear left of the “pending” message. Now you have 3 options: Publish, Edit or Delete.
If you press “Publish” the pending status changes into published and each of your students receives a notification.
