In this guide we are going to explain how to create a multiple choice quiz. In our example we are working in our Tutorials 2 course. First, make sure you are in the right course. Then, on the right side, you should find the “quiz” button. Click on it.
It will lead you to a screen where you can only finf one button: “Create quiz”. Click on it.
Now you should be able to designate a name, a starting date, the lenght and questions to your quiz.
Once you click the starting date, a drop-down calendar appears so you can easily choose your date.
When you click “Lenght” you can choose how long the test will last with a maximum of 120 minutes.
Good! So far we have a name, starting date and allocated the lenght of our quiz. Now we are going to focus on the questions. You should click the button “Create question” followed by multiple choice. In the future we hope to add more options.
When you have selected this option, a popup window should appear just like in the following image. You can upload a picture that corresponds to this question if you press “Select file”.
Find the image on your computer and insert it by clicking “Open”.
Below your picture appears the text field to write your question.
The FIRST answer field corresponds to the right answer. You should be able to tell them apart easily since only this field is marked blue.
By default, only one alternative answer field appears. You can create additional ones, we will show you later in this guide. Having 2 answer fields is handy for making quick true or false questions, for example.
In case you need more answer fields, just press the button “Add answer”. (you may have to scroll down). For each time you press this button, an additional field appears.
In case you don’t want to continue with this question just click “cancel”.
But if your question is ready and want to save it, press “Save question”.
When you save your question the pop-up window will disappear and you will go back to the summary screen of your quiz. You should see your recently created question.
Apply the same process for each of your questions untill you have created all your questions for this quiz. Once you have reached that point you should click “Quizzes” again on the right of your screen.
Before, you would only have the option to create a quiz, but now you will see additionally your first quiz, which you can still edit or enable. (TIP: you can only edit quizzes that have not been enabled.) Your students will not see your quiz untill it has been enabled. For now, it is in standby-mode.
Once enabled, your quiz will be activated so your student can take the quiz. Students only have ONE shot a taking the test, but once everybody has finished, you still have to close the quiz manually. Only when you close the quiz, the system starts to review the answers and hand out the obtained scores. This means that if a student finishes the quiz, he or she will not have immediate access to their score and correct answers.
